Trenity Burdine To Transfer To Georgetown College

Former Siena Saint Trenity Burdine is reportedly transferring to Georgetown College, an NAIA school in Kentucky. Burdine a 6-6 forward, left Siena following this past season. He was the team’s 5th leading scorer (8.2 ppg.) appearing in 23 games and starting 15. Georgetown College was the 2012-13 NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Champion.

After coming off a redshirt season as a sophomore due to a foot injury, Burdine showed great promise on the court. However, his season was tarnished with several off the court problems. He was suspended twice, the first for an undisclosed violation of athletic department policy at the beginning of the year, and the second for academic reasons. He was said to have continuing academic difficulties at the end of the academic year. He was also reported to be present with teammate Rakeem Brookins during off the court issue that led to Brookins dismissal.

At the time of his departure, Mark Singelais of the Albany Times Union reported:
“He wants to play right away and pursue some opportunities to be closer to his son,” Siena coach Jimmy Patsos on Trenity Burdine.

An NAIA member, Georgetown College is a small, liberal arts college located in Georgetown, Kentucky. Unrestricted by NCAA transfer rules, Burdine will be allowed to play right away this upcoming season.
