The Saints have had an incredible season so far achieving a 19-12 record after winning just 9 games all of last season. Playing with just 7 players for most of this year, Siena finished in 5th place in the MAAC and defeated No. 4 seed Iona to advance to the MAAC Tournament Semifinal where they lost to eventual tournament champion Quinnipiac.

This will be the program’s 5th postseason appearance and the first in 12 years (WNIT in 2003). It will be the Saints’ first WBI appearance. The Siena men began their CBI Championship run last season against Stony Brook.

Siena head coach Ali Jaques and Stony Brook head coach Caroline McCombs both served as assistants under head coach Joe McKeown at Northwestern from 2010-2012.

Stony Brook holds a record of 17-13 overall after bowing out in the quarterfinals of the America East Tournament, losing to UMBC 49-47. They finished with a record of 10-6 in the conference earning them a No. 3 seed.

The Seawolves are led by 6-0 senior forward Sabre Proctor who averages 14.8 points per game. Kori Bayne-Walker, a 5-5 sophomore guard averages 11.4 points and 6-0 junior forward Brittany Snow is also in double figures with 11.2 points per contest.

Stony Brook was 1-1 versus MAAC opponents this season defeating St. Peter’s 56-40 and losing to Iona 73-62. They were 1-1 against America East Champion, UAlbany.

The winner of Thursday’s Siena-Stony Brook matchup will face the winner of No. 2 Xavier/No. 7 William & Mary this weekend.

Tickets to Thursday’s game are $8 for adults, $5 for children 13 and under and FREE for students with their Siena College ID.
