#SienaLegends Draft to be Held Tuesday at 4 PM
Will Be Held in the Marcelle Athletic Complex
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The player draft and press conference for the inaugural #SienaLegends game will be held Tuesday, July 17th at 4 p.m. in the Marcelle Athletic Complex. Fans can watch the event online for free exclusively at SienaAllAccess.com.
A total of 33 #SienaLegends comprise the draft pool and will be selected by either one of the two “general management” teams. General Managers of one team include NewsChannel13 Sports anchor Rodger Wyland, Troy Record sports writer Andrew Santillo and a yet-to-be-determined season ticket holder, while the other team consists of CBS6 Sports anchor Doug Sherman, Schenectady Gazette columnist Mike MacAdam and a yet-to-be-determined season ticket holder.
The two lucky fan GM’s – which will be revealed on Friday – will be selected from season ticket holders who have already fulfilled early renewal requests, or new 2012-13 season ticket holders. To order or renew season tickets, call the Siena Fan Relations Office at 518-487-2202.
Last month fans voted on the 10 starters for the game during a two-week online vote hosted by the Siena Fan Site 4guysinblazers.com. The first 10 picks of the draft will be selected from the pool of voted-upon starters and select legends will be in attendance for the draft.
The inaugural #SienaLegends game will be held Thursday, July 19 at the Alumni Recreation Center at 7 p.m. Doors open to the public at 4:45 p.m. with a “Meet and Greet” with legends and alumni scheduled for 5 p.m. A three-on-three tournament will take place at 6 p.m. and the final event before tip-off will be a shooting competition.
One team will be coached by current Saints’ Head Coach Mitch Buonaguro while the other will be led by former head coach John Griffin who led Siena from 1982-86, posting a 70-44 (.614) overall record.
Advanced tickets are priced at $12 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under and can only be purchased online at SienaSaints.com/Tickets. A limited amount of day of game tickets will be sold at the Box Office located inside the Marcelle Athletic Complex beginning at 4:30 p.m. and are priced at $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
