SG Chavaughn Lewis Looking at Siena

Chavaughn Lewis could very well be getting a taste of things to come when he plays for the New York State Federation Class A Title this weekend at the Times Union Center. For Lewis, a SG for St. Mary’s Manhasset, this will be his second trip to Albany within a week. This past weekend Lewis visited Siena, one of at least 4 schools to have offered him a scholarship for the 2011-12 school year.

Lewis is a 6’5″ SG who is averaging 23.6 pts this season for the 28-0 Gaels. ¬†Lewis has been considered one of the most underrated seniors in New York, and if his coach is correct, could be a great steal for the Saints. Quoted in the New York Post, St Mary’s coach Bill Harkins, stated that he would take Lewis over Villanova commit Achraf Yacoubou. In case you’re wondering ESPN has Yacoubou rated with a 92 grade, high major talent.

This is a great opportunity this weekend to show Chavaughn what it is like to play before a crowd at the Times Union Center. We’d encourage anyone with the time to get on out to the TUC this weekend and watch and cheer on what could be a future Saint.
