As Siena women’s head coach Ali Jaques prepares to begin her second season at the helm of the program, she will need to fill the vacancy left by the departure of lead assistant Margaret Spaulding. In her duties as lead assistant, Spaulding served as the recruiting coordinator and was involved in all aspects of the program.

Spaulding who joined the staff at Siena soon after Jaques was hired as head coach last off-season, has made the decision to leave for family reasons. Spaulding’s husband Jason was recently promoted to associate head baseball coach at the University of Maine. The increased demands of his job and the 8 hour distance led to her decision to leave. Although no timetable has been set, a replacement is likely to be named soon.

The Saints will look to build on last season’s 13-18 overall and 9-11 conference records. After a regular season 6th place finish, they advanced to the MAAC Tournament Semifinal. Jaques first incoming recruiting class consists of local standout from Albany High, 5-6 guard Emia Willingham as well as 5-8 guard Halee Adams, 6-2 post player Meghan Donohue and 5-6 point guard Brianna Logan.
