Saints to take on San Diego

The Saints will look to move above .500 for the first time in this short season when they take on the University of San Diego Toreros. Here are some quick notes:

  • Siena sophomore Rob Poole missed the second half of last night’s win over NKU due to illness. His status for tonight’s game is uncertain.
  • This is the first meeting between these two schools
  • San Diego is 2-2 on the season, with wins against NAIA member San Diego Christian and first year DI member Northern Kentucky.
  • Sophomore Guard, and preseason All-WCC first team member, Johnny Dee leads team in scoring, averaging 13.8 per game.
  • Saints will matchup well at the point from a size stand point. Sophomore guard Christopher Anderson checks in at 5’7″, 150 lb. He is averaging 11.8 ppg and a team high 6.3 assists per game. Tied a school record vs Tulsa with 7 steals.
  • Senior forward Chris Manresa has missed the last three games with a back injury. He scored 14 in San Diego’s opening game. Manresa led the team in rebounding last season, averaging 5.8 a game. He is not expected to start.
  • No member of the team is averaging more than 4 boards a game.
  • The team is shooting 46.2% on the season and 71.3% from the free throw line.
  • San Diego is shooting 47% from three in their last two games
  • Tip off is scheduled for 4pm Eastern.
