Ryan Oliver Invited To Gotham Hoops Invitational

 Siena Basketball senior guard Ryan Oliver has accepted an invitation and will compete in the Third Annual Gotham Hoops Invitational presented by Overtime Saturday, Apr. 9 at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. The tournament-style event serves as a showcase for 36 men’s college basketball seniors, providing an opportunity to compete before fans and scouts as they look to pursue professional basketball careers overseas.

A native of Inglewood, CA, Oliver appeared in 119 career games (36 starts) in his four years donning the Green and Gold. He averaged 5.7 points per game over his career shooting 37% from three-point range in making 136 of his 236 field goals from beyond the arc.

Oliver saw action in all 34 games this season including 21 starts for the Saints, playing an integral role for a team which posted its most victories in six years in achieving a 21-13 overall record which culminated in a berth in the College Basketball Invitational. He averaged 7.3 points, made 51 threes and ranked fourth in the MAAC shooting 40.5% from three-point range. Oliver shot 51% (25-49) from three-point range over his final 11 games and concluded his collegiate career by scoring a team-high 18 points in Siena’s CBI First Round loss to eventual runner-up Morehead State.

Professional evaluators from across the globe will be in attendance for the event which tips at 3 p.m. with the semifinals. The consolation game takes place at 6 p.m., with the inaugural invitational final set for 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and tickets are $10 for the general public.
