Rossiter at Portsmouth Invitational

Portsmouth Game 3 Update:

Ryan Rossiter put in a strong performance as he scored 10 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in  18 minutes of action as his Portsmouth Partnership team defeated the Portsmouth Sports Club team 95-87 to earn third place in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Ryan was 4/8 from the field and 2/2 from the line and also had 2 steals.Casey Mitchell of West Virginia  led Rossiter’s team 30 with points while John Holland of Boston University, Bill Clark of Duquesne and Vernon Macklin of Florida each had 17 to lead the opponent.

In 3 games played Ryan averaged 5 points and 6 rebounds per game in front of scouts representing all NBA squads and several overseas professional teams. It is seen as an opportunity to showcase a players talents in hopes of launching a professional career. Congratulations to Ryan and best of luck from 4guysinblazers.

Portmouth Update Game 2:

Ryan Rossiter finished 1 for 3 from the field with 2 points and 5 rebounds in 23 minutes of action as his Portsmouth Partnership team lost 79-66 to K&D Rounds Landscaping in a second round game at the Portsmouth Invitational. Casey Mitchell from West Virginia led the way for Ryan’s team with 17 points while Jimmy Butler of Marquette had 18 points and Rick Jackson from Syaracuse had 17 for K&D.  Next Rossiter’s team will play in the third place game Saturday at 6:00p.m.

Ryan Rossiter will return to action Friday at 7:00 p.m. as his Portsmouth Partnership team will take on K&D Landscaping in a winners bracket matchup. K&D’s roster includes 6’9″ F Rick Jackson from Syracuse who had 13 points 5 rebounds in the opening round game and Jimmy Butler a 6’7″ F from Marquette who had 19 points 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Siena star Ryan Rossiter will be suiting up in an unfamiliar number, 13, when he hits the court tonight at 7pm in game one of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Rossiter has been assigned to the Portsmouth Partnership coached by Dave Trickler and Eric Acra. Here is a complete list of the Portsmouth Partnership Roster:

Portsmouth provides Seniors with one last chance to impress scouts and hopefully raise their draft stock before the NBA Draft. There will be approximately 200 NBA and 100 European scouts in attendance at the event. Currently there are 57 former Portsmouth participants who are in the NBA.
