Recap: Saints 71 Maine 60

The Saints (11-16) broke a 4 game losing streak beating the Maine Black Bears (14-13) by a final score of 71-60 in front of 8,311 at the Times Union Center. .


The Saints went into the half down by 5, but stormed back, going on a 17-4 run to open a 17pt lead with 7:16 left in the game. Maine fought back closing the gap to 6, but the Saints were able to hold on and capture a much needed win. .


The Saints had 5 players in double figures with Clarence Jackson leading the way with 17 on 5-10 shooting. OD Anosike  added his 5th double-double of the season with 10 pts and 11 boards. Ryan Rossiter had his typical night, with 14 pts and 16 boards. Rakeem Brookins had 13 pts and one very surprising blocked shot in the second half following a turnover. Rounding out the scoring was Freshman forward Trenity Burdine who made the most of increased playing time dropping 12pts on 4-6 shooting including 2-4 shooting from beyond the arch. .


Siena next takes on MAAC regular season champion Fairfield, who beat the Saints earlier in the season at the TU Center by 15. Fairfield has become a must win game for the Saints who will enter the contest in a tie with Canisius for the 6th spot in the MAAC. Canisus holds the tie breaker. The team finishing in 7th will have to play one extra game in the MAAC tournament if it hopes to go on to the big dance next month.
