Postgame Comments Following Siena Win Over Manhattan

Nico Clareth

“Just to be back on the court and winning is the main thing. I think me playing well is me feeding off the wins and feeding off of my teammates. I’ve got good teammates. The stat sheet, I just love seeing that, everybody scoring like that. it just shows how many weapons we’ve got.”

On returning after being on a leave of absence:

“It was definitely  process. I didn’t let any time got to waste (while on a leave). I was working as much as my body would allow me to. Luckily I got the opportunity to play and I’m trying to make the most of it.”

“I’m always comfortable on the court. I always try to find my rhythm. It’s just a matter of whether it’s working or not. My style of play has just got to be adapting to the game and doing different things. One day I might not score. I have to pass to my teammates who are scoring the ball like crazy. Or I might just have to grab rebounds or play defense against the best players. I’m just glad we’re winning.”

On the team coming together and their balance attack:

“We’re really jelling. We were jelling before but now we’re really, really jelling. The stat sheet is crazy. You don’t see that. I just think it’s beautiful basketball.”

On facing Niagara next:

“It’s not really about how tough or not tough a team is. You’ve just got to be ready to play. if you get caught slipping, you’re gonna catch an L.”

Brett Bisping

On the teams shooting:

“A lot of guys are getting confidence. Marquis is starting to really shoot the ball well like he did in the beginning of the season. And, we’re getting good shots. We’re sharing the ball. Getting the ball inside to Javion and kicking it back out for threes. Good quality shots always helps the percentage.”

“This is what we’ve been trying to do all year, get all four seniors involved. Tonight we did that really well and we’ve got to keep doing that for the rest of the year. We’re running out of games here, so I think we’ll be ready to go every night.”

“I did come out thinking just be confident. Don’t think to much about the shots you’ve been missing. You’ve got to move forward otherwise it’s just a downward spiral.”

“We’re rebounding as a team now. We’ve got a lot of guys who are rebounding really well and that’s great.”

“We had a tough few games at home here that we weren’t happy about. I think we’re heading in the right direction. People’s heads are in the right place. we have good energy and a lot of emotion. Our four seniors are all playing really well and if we can keep that up, I like our chances.”

Marquis Wright

“We are moving the ball well and playing together as a team. The way we’re passing the ball, we’re getting easier shots.”

“We always count on Brett, his hustle plays, rebounding and scoring. We just feed off of energy like that.”

“I feel like we came out with intensity on the defensive end and that led to good offense. It takes effort and that’s what we gave tonight. Our press worked.”

“It starts with the four seniors. We all played well tonight and it’s hard to beat us when we all play well and then the guys coming off the bench helping us. We’re just doing it as a team, and helping each other out.”

 Manhattan coach Steve Masiello

“I’m disappointed in what I’m seeing in results. We have to do a better job and we’re  not doing it. We have to do a better job defending and doing the little things that lead to winning, that led us to won two out of the last 3 MAAC Championships. we’ve got to do those things better.”

On Brett Bisping:

“He’s a special young man, everything about him. I just love guys like that. Brett Bisping in my opinion from an outsider can never slump because he impacts winning in so many ways even if his numbers aren’t there.”
