Multiple sources are now reporting that Nico Clareth, a 6-4 shooting guard from Towson, Md., has committed to Siena. The talented and highly-recruited player from Calvert Hall College High School in Baltimore, will join the Saints for the 2015-2016 season. Clareth made his college choice known on his Senior Night at Calvert Hall with Siena head coach Jimmy Patsos and assistant Greg Manning in attendance.

Clareth who received an offer from Siena last month, had according to various recruiting sources, also received interest and offers from Charleston, SMU, Tennessee, UNLV, USC, Utah, Virginia Tech, Radford, Towson, UNC Greensboro, UMBC, Auburn, UConn, Maryland, Indiana, Seton Hall, Delaware, San Diego State, Florida State and La Salle.

Clareth is described by DMV Elite as “a dynamic guard with great athleticism and the capability of getting hot from deep…he has the potential to be a major scorer and contribute on the defensive side, as well.” He joins Kenny Wormley and Evan Fisher in Siena’s  incoming recruiting class. Clareth competed with Fisher for Baltimore Elite in the Nike EYBL AAU circuit where he averaged 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

The Baltimore Sun profiles Clareth as : “An asset at both ends of the floor with his sturdy 6-foot-4 frame and athleticism, Clareth averaged 14 points and four rebounds per game last season and was the Baltimore Catholic League Defensive Player of the Year. When opponents try to limit fellow standout Drew Edwards, Clareth will make them pay with a versatile inside-outside game.”

Phenom Hoop report: “Clareth is a scorer who likes to have the ball in his hands, he has surprising explosion when attacking the rim and great rotation and a quick release on his jump shot. Clareth has all the natural abilities to be a great defender. He has quickness, explosion, and a high motor. Since his play on the EYBL his confidence has exploded.”
