Michael Wolfe To Transfer From Siena

Siena Head Coach Jimmy Patsos confirmed on Tuesday, that sophomore forward Michael Wolfe will transfer from Siena. It had previously been stated that Wolfe, who had recently been absent from practices and had not appeared in any games this season, would red-shirt, however it is now confirmed he will not return. he has been granted his release by Siena and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

“Mike Wolfe’s a great guy,” said Patsos. “He was gonna red shirt anyways this year. He’s gonna go closer to home and he wants go where he can play a lot of minutes. He wants to be a major piece of the team he plays on.”

Wolfe, a 6-9 forward from Germanyown, Md. appeared in 36 of 38 games in his freshman season, averaging 5.0 minutes played. An athletic big man with tremendous physical ability, he was never able to break into the regular playing rotation averaging just 1.8 points and .6 rebounds per game. He scored a season-high 14 points (including four dunks) in 24 minutes at Canisius last season.

    He has fie years to play fur. If he is going to another D1 school, he will have only 2 1/2 years of eligibility left, not 3.
