Margo Peterson Commits To Siena

Siena has received an early verbal commitment from 6-0 guard Margo Peterson from High Point Regional High School in Sussex, NJ. She will join the Saints for the 2018-2019 season.

Peterson who was recently named the NJ.com NJAC Player of the Year for the second straight year, averaged 18.9 points and 5.7 rebounds as a junior this season. She averaged 19.8 points over six state tournament games in leading High Point to the state final.

With her senior year still ahead of her, Peterson ranks 4th all-time in scoring at High Point with 1,287 points for her career. She competes with the United NJ AAU program.

The scouting report from the recent Gym Rat AAU Tournament held locally described Peterson: “Great build, strong player who commands the floor. She is able to bring the ball up court on fast breaks. Great/strong moves in the post. Fun to watch, not afraid to body up opponents. Good back-to-the-basket move. She can also shoot the three-ball. Just a good all-around player. Offers from several Patriot and MAAC schools.”

When also named the NJ Herald Player of the Year for the second straight year, it was said of Peterson that she was one of the best pure shooters that High Point coach Chris Dexter had coached in his 15 years at the school.

News12varsity.com described Peterson as “an absolute matchup nightmare, the 6-0 swing assertive off the bounce, lethal behind the arc and heady of when to drop into the post.”
