Multiple sources are now confirming what had been rumored recently that forward Javion Ogunyemi will pursue a return to Siena. The 6-8 big man had previously announced that he was transferring to Boston University but according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN is expected to transfer back to Siena due to family/personal issues.

Ogunyemi had enrolled in classes for the summer session and worked out with the team at BU after seeking a change of scenery from the Troy area. He has had a change of heart and decided to return to the Saints.

Ogunyemi who averaged 9.3 points and 4.8 rebounds last season was the Saints’ most improved player.
Ogunyemi will return to Siena in September after taking summer classes at BU. Siena will apply for a waiver from the NCAA seeking to allow him to return to action for the Saints for this upcoming season. They hope to have an answer in the next month or so.
With no scholarships available this year, Ogunyemi won’t be on scholarship for the upcoming season. He will be receiving financial aid and loans until a scholarship becomes available for next year.
The lone remaining scholarship had been offered to Cam Gottfried who was on the Siena roster as a walk-on last season.
