Golden State Saints

The Golden State Warriors are quickly turning into Siena West. Days after signing former Saint standout Edwin Ubiles, the Warriors have announced that they have invited Tommy Mitchell to camp as well.

Mitchell, a 6’3″ guard, played for the Saints from 2001-2005. During his freshman year he was a part of the Saints squad that shocked the MAAC, winning the conference tournament and automatic bid to the NCAA tournament despite entering the tourney as a weak 7 seed on a 3 game losing streak. The team went on to defeat Alcorn State in the opening game of the NCAA tournament before bowing out to 1 seed Maryland. The following year Mitchell and the Saints won 2 NIT games, defeating Villanova and Western Michigan before falling to UAB. For his career Mitchell scored 1,115 points, 29th all time. His best season was 2002-03 when he averaged 13.6 ppg, accumulating 434 total points. Mitchell ranks as one of the top distributors in Saints history as well. He totaled 226 assists, 23rd all time, in his four seasons at Siena.

Last season Mitchell played in Canada with the Quebec Kebs where he averaged 11.8 points in 12 games of action.
