Game Preview: Siena Women at Fairfield

The Siena women are on the road again Saturday afternoon as they take on Fairfield in the final game of a three-game road trip. Tip off at Webster Bank Arena is scheduled for noon. This is the 66th meeting all-time between the two teams with Fairfield leading the series, 37-28.

In their last matchup, Fairfield pulled out a hard-fought 60-55 win in Loudonville. In a game that featured six ties and 11 lead changes Meghan Donohue led the way for the Saints with 16 points and 7 rebounds while Kelsey Carey led the Stags with 22 points off the bench.

Siena enters the game with a record of 15-11 overall and 8-9 in the MAAC placing them in a three -way tie for 5th place with Niagara and Rider with just 3 games remaining in the regular season. They will look to add to an already impressive 10-3 record this season in true road games. Their 10 road wins ties them for the fourth most nationally this season. The Saints are coming off a 66-51 win at Manhattan on Thursday.

Freshman Margot Hetzke leads the Saints in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.0 points (5th in MAAC) and 7.2 rebounds (4th in MAAC)  per game. She is an eight time MAAC Rookie of the Week.

Senior Tehresa Coles is second on the Saints in scoring averaging 13.3 points per game (6th in MAAC). She leads the MAAC (19th nationally) with 3.0 steals per game and became the all-time leader in steals (284) at Siena surpassing Mary Gaudreau on Thursday. Her 1.083 career points places her 23rd all-time at Siena behind Serena Moore (1,094).

Meghan Donohue is coming of a career-high 21 point performance against Iona on Sunday. She is averaging 10.5 points per game and has scored in double figures 15 times this season. Her 51.9% field goal percentage ranks third in the MAAC.

Senior Ida Krogh ranks third in the MAAC in assists with 4.7 per game. She is fourth in free throw shooting at 82.2% and 9th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.09). Her 121 assist are the most in 11 years at Siena.

RPI Rankings: Siena 187, Fairfield 171

Fairfield enters the game with a record of 12-13 overall and 11-5 in the MAAC putting them currently in third place. They are coming off their sixth straight home win after a 61-58 win over Canisius.

The Stags are led by Casey Smith who is averaging 12.2 points and Kristin Schatzkein who is also in double figure with 11.6 points per game.
