Emmett Davis Finalist for Coaching Vacancy

Emmett Davis was spotted on the Siena campus today interviewing for the coaching vacancy created with the departure of assistant coach Adam Chaskin. Davis is a Gloversville native who has spent the past 13 seasons as head coach at Patriot League member Colgate. During his tenure Davis compiled a record of 165-212, the highest win total in Colgate history. His 2007-2008 campaign was his most successful when he led the Raiders to a school record tying 18 wins and a berth in the Patriot League Championship game. Davis was released from his contract last month following a disappointing 7-23 season.

Prior to his time at Colgate, Davis spent 12 seasons as an assistant coach at Navy. During his time at Navy Davis was responsible for coaching Navy’s post players, including NBA great David Robinson for his last two years. He also served as recruiting coordinator.
