Centeno Begins Pro Career With Win

Former Siena Saint Cristina Centeno began her professional career with Piratas de Quebradillas of the BSNF league in Puerto Rico and got off to a great start scoring 15 points in an 85-69 win over Tigresas de Aguas Buenas. The game was a big win for Quebradillas as it marked a return to the BSNF after a long absence. The Piratas were led by Melissa Lechlitner, formally of Notre Dame and Becca Briszewski who each scored 24.

After a stint with the Puerto Rican National Team, Centeno was picked 4th overall in the 2012 BSNF Draft.

She recently completed a great career at Siena College where she joined Sasha Baker and Gunta Basko as the only Siena players with 800 points, 400 rebounds, 300 assists, 100 steals, and 100 3’s. For her efforts on the court she was named to the All-MAAC Third team for the second straight year.
