Anosike Named To NABC Honors Court

Siena’s OD Anosike has been named to the 2011-2012 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court in recognition for his performance as a student athlete. The award is given to those who excelled in the classroom for the 2011-12 season. To be named to the Honors Court an athlete must meet the following academic criteria.

1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.

2. Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2011-12 academic year.

3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.

4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Institution.

Anosike is joined on the Honors Court by fellow MAAC players Kevin Laue, Liam McCabe-Moran and Torgrim Sommerfeldt of Manhattan, and Ryan Olander of Fairfield.

Anosike, an All-MAAC first team selection, had a tremendous season averaging 15 points per game and finished the season with a nation leading 12.52 rebounds per game. He is one of the top double-double men in the country (2nd) with 23, including a stretch of 17 consecutive. He was also chosen to the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) District 1 first team and the Lou Henson All-America Team which recognizes the top mid-major players in the country.
