Alex Franklin Update

One more game and 3,902 miles are all that separate Alex Franklin from Tarragona, Spain and his hometown of Reading, PA.  This Friday Alex’s CB Tarragona team will play their last game of the season.  As a first year pro player Alex has made the adjustments to a faster paced more physical game of the LEB (Liga Espanola de Baloncesto) Gold, very well.

When 4guysinblazers caught up with Alex today he reflected on the progress his team has made over last season, “We are not able to make the playoffs because it’s only the top 9 teams. However with a win on Friday we can finish as high as 12th in our league, which is a major improvement from last season where they finished 17th out of 18 teams”. The team’s improvement is in large part due to Alex’s personal performance. He is currently leading his team in scoring 15.1 per game (7th in the league), steals 1.6 per game (4th in the league), and rebounds, 6.7 per game.

As his time in Spain winds down, Alex is making the most of it. This season, which began last October will wrap up on Friday.” The season for me is officially over on the 15th and I will be coming back to the States on the 20th!!! Right now I am enjoying my last full week in Spain and on Friday I will help my team try to end this season on a positive note with a win”.

After a short break Alex will go back to work continuing to improve on all aspects of his game.  He previously indicated he would be training at the Impact Training Facility in Las Vegas.  This facility is known as being one of the best basketball training facilities in the world. Its alumni include such NBA players as Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Kevin Love, and John Wall. Coming off this impressive season Alex is ready to put in the work to elevate his game to be ready for whatever opportunity comes his way. “This off season, it’s all about improving my game and preparing my body for the challenges it could face possibly playing in a higher league next season”.

.

Congratulations to Alex on a great season and Best of Luck !
