Alex Franklin Named To Puerto Rico’s Final Roster For FIBA World Cup

Former Siena Saint Alex Franklin has been name to the final roster to compete for Puerto Rico in the 2014 FIBA World Cup. The Puerto Rican Federation announced on Monday the twelve players that will represent Puerto Rico in the event which takes place every four years. This year’s World Cup takes place in host country, Spain.


Franklin and the Puerto Rican squad will take on Team USA at Madison Square Garden this Friday in an exhibition tune-up game before heading to Spain.

Puerto Rico will compete in Group B along which includes Argentina, Croatia, Greece, Philippines and Senegal. Their first game takes place on Saturday, August 30 against Argentina.  Other group phase games are, Sunday, 8/31 vs. Senegal, Monday 9/1 vs. Greece, Wednesday, 9/3 vs. Philippines and Thursday, 9/4 vs. Croatia.
