What we Do

4guysinblazers is dedicated to bringing fans everywhere the latest news on Siena basketball. We are the only fan news site that is on the ground in Albany covering the team. We will bring you the latest news, rumors, and opinions surrounding the program and its players past and present. When Siena basketball news breaks, we’re your source.

History

Founded in January of 2011, 4guysinblazers was the creation of founding members Bill, Tom, Angelo, and Dominick. Armed with a passion of sports, the four set out to be true super fans of Siena Saints Basketball. To set themselves apart, the four agreed to wear green blazers to all Siena Saints home games, literally wearing Siena green on their sleeves.

The group expanded into the blogging world soon after with Bill and Tom teaming up to present a comprehensive Siena and MAAC basketball site.

In our first year of existence, we have established an impressive resume. Our work has appeared nationally on sites like ESPN Insider, recruitrecon, internationally through our coverage of former Saints playing overseas, and more. We were included on Ballin’ is a Habit’s College Basketball Social Media Must-Follow Database for the 2011-12 season and are a member of Google News. We have broken several stories regarding former and current players, interviewed coaches and players both past and current.

In addition to Siena basketball coverage, our network has allowed us to host a free basketball clinic in partnership with the Boys and Girls club.

All of that in only one year and we’re only just getting started!

Tom is a life long fan of college basketball who has followed  Siena  for forty years. As a graduate  of Siena he combines his knowledge of the game with his perspective as an athlete,coach and fan into an all around perspective in his coverage. As a founding member of 4guysinblazers he serves as editor, writer, and men’s and women’s corespondent. From his attendance at practices and weekly media luncheons with the coaches to his credentialed coverage on the road at venues such as Madison Square Garden and the Mass Mutual Center, for the MAAC Tournament he strives to offer the most complete coverage.

Bill is the man behind the action that keeps the engine of 4guysinblazers running smooth. A graduate of Hope College, one of the nation’s premier Division III basketball colleges, Bill has an acute appreciation of the tradition and history of college athletics. A former member of Hope’s Dew Crew (student section), he has a tremendous passion for the game. While having only followed Siena basketball for the past several years since transplanting to the Capital Region, Bill has quickly learned the history and tradition of the program. Bill takes care of the technical aspects of 4guysinblazers and is Tom’s right hand man in providing the internet’s most complete blog coverage of Siena hoops. From writing game day coverage to your latest recruiting news, Bill leaves no stone unturned in covering the Saints.

Dominick LeMorta: Special Events Coordinator

Dom has a passion for sports, coaching, and youth outreach. With those traits in mind he was a logical choice to head our community outreach initiatives. In this capacity Dominick has successfully planned and executed a free basketball clinic for area children. Working with the Boys and Girls club Dom was able to raise over $3500 dollars for the organization while giving 50 area children the opportunity to learn basketball fundamentals and meet some of their favorite former Siena Saints.

Angelo Malone: Founding Member

The fourth of the original founding members of 4guysinblazers, Angelo attends games with the rest of the guys. He has alot of passion for both the men’s and women’s basketball team. He brings his energy to the arena for every game, always ready to cheer on the Saints.

Gregg Twergo: Staff Photographer  

Gregg is the man behind the camera for 4guys. The only staffer not to be a founding member of the group, Gregg has brought his photography skills to the group to help us share the game day experience with fans everywhere of Siena basketball. Gregg is a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh where he served as assistant editor of the school paper during his Senior year. You can see more of Gregg’s work at his website GreggTwergo.com
