1980’s Game 3

Tonight’s matchup is between 2 seed Jeff Robinson and 7 seed Matt Brady. The winner will go on to face the winner of the matchup between Lee Matthews (3) and Eric Banks (6).


Jeff Robinson (2) played for Siena from 1986 to 1990.He ranks # 7 all time in scoring with 1,657 points in his career. His single game high came against Maine during the ’88-’89 season where he scored 37 points. He was an all around player also ranking # 14 all time in assists with 284 and #18 in rebounds with 583. He could hit the deep jumper, scoring 178 3 pointers over his career, as well as take it to the rim. After his freshman season, Robinson was named to the all rookie team. His junior year he averaged 19.8 points per game. He played a major roll on a team coached by Mike Deane that took Siena Basketball to new heights. After winning the NAC regular season and tournament championships, Robinson and his teammates went on to appear in the NCAA tournament where they defeated Stanford, the #13 ranked team in the country, in the first round.  Following that season he was named NAC Player of the Year and Eastern Basketball All-East Honorable Mention.



Matt Brady (7) played for Siena from 1983-1987. He is looked at as one of the great point guards in school history. His 593 career assists ranks him 3rd all time behind Ronald Moore and Marc Brown. Brady ranks # 29 all time in scoring with 1,106 points averaging 9.7 over his career. Brady also ranks # 10 all time in steals with 147. As a senior while acting as floor general he averaged 14.1 points per game. He was named all NAC honorable mention in 1987, second team all NAC in 1986, and first team all NAC in 1986.he was inducted into the Siena Hall of Fame in 1993. He has continued his leadership displayed during his playing career into a successful career in coaching. He served as A D-1 assistant for 17 years at Rhode Island, Wagner, and St. Joseph’s. He also served as head coach at MAAC rival Marist from 2004-2008 where he took the Red Foxes to the regular season championship in 2007. He is currently head coach at James Madison University.
